Gurdwara Tibba Nanaksar in Nanaksar area of district Jhang has been sealed (03.01.2023) on the orders of District Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Arshad Bhatti.
Sardar Jaspal Singh, a social activist of Jhang and the office bearers of the Rotary Club, who reached the spot, said that the dilapidated Gurudwara Tibba Nanaksar, associated with the first Guru Nanak Dev ji, remained closed for a few years after the partition of the country. Later, 17 kanals of land and 20 adjoining houses in the name of Gurdwara Sahib were illegally occupied by the locals.
Jaspal Singh also said that cattle were being tied up inside the Gurdwara Sahib by the encroachers for a long time and cattle fodder/dung cakes were being stored in some rooms. He said that the Gurdwara Sahib building has been temporarily sealed after he appealed to the district administration to prevent further desecration of the Gurdwara Sahib building.
As per Jaspal Singh the Gurdwara Sahib building will be reconstructed with the support of Rotary Club International and it will house a government dispensary and a water purification plant.
