The Sikh for Justice (SFJ) terrorist Gurpatwant Pannu issued a threat of terror attack in the national capital on Republic Day.
As India prepares to celebrate its 74th Republic Day on January 26, Sikh for Justice (SFJ) terrorist Gurupatwant Singh Pannu posted a video on social media asserting to execute a terrorist attack. In the posted video, he claimed to “liberate Punjab from Indian occupation in 2023”.
“Stay indoors on January 26, or you’ll be thwarted by the SFJ. Delhi will be our target, and we will unfurl the flag of Khalistan,” said Pannu. He also offered 5,00,000 dollars to anyone who unfurls Khalistan’s flag on the Red fort.
Following the threats, lawyer Vineet Jindal filed a complaint against the SFJ and Pannu in the Supreme Court.
“I was shocked to see that these accounts indulge in anti-national activities and shared a recent video of Grupatwant singh Pannu of Sikh for justice who extended threat of RDX attack in Delhi on 26th Jan’2023,” said Vineet Jindal in a statement.
“We all know that Gurpatwant Singh Pannu is a declared terrorist in India and SFJ is a banned terrorist organisation that indulges in anti-national activities. I am requesting you to lodge FIR Against Gurpatwant Singh Pannu and SFJ for extending threats to kill residents of Delhi,” he further wrote.
Last year, the Punjab Police booked Pannu for trying to spread hatred and enmity among communities and conspiring to disturb peace in the country, specifically Punjab.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police had said that it has intensified patrolling and anti-terror measures in the city ahead of Republic Day celebrations. The police have also urged people to stay vigilant and inform them about anything suspicious.
