After the rally, strict security measures were put into place in Mohali. The protesters were accompanied by police personnel to keep them on the approved paths.
To demonstrate outside Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s house in Chandigarh, however, Insaaf Morcha protestors were refused permission by the Chandigarh Union Territory government.
Therefore, the protesters held nonviolent protests in Mohali along the highways adjoining Chandigarh.
The Mohali government had finalized the Morcha’s path.
The demonstration, organized by the group “Quami Insaaf Morcha,” began on January 7 near the boundary between Mohali and Chandigarh. The demonstrators and the Chandigarh Police had clashed violently in Sector 52 on February 18.
